Monday - The Art of Doodling, Spring
The Art of Doodling for relaxation. Need some help relaxing, or maybe just have a love for art? This class is your you! Learn how to find your zen by learning new fun doodle techniques. Each week, we will learn two new doodle designs and how to incorporate them into a doodle masterpiece! With Jen Cortez.
Open to any student from Kindergarten to 4th Grade. Dates for Doodling this spring are April 16th, 23rd, 30th, May 7th, 14th, and 21st. Limited to 15 doodlers.

Monday - Spa Factory, Spring
Scrub a dub, dub! Do you love pampering yourself with a nice bubble bath? Do you enjoy calming smells and fragrances? Well this is the class for you! You will have the opportunity to create your own personal spa. In this class you will make bath bombs, lip scrubs, bubble bath soap, candles, and other relaxing products! During the class students will make these spa products and also learn how they are used. They will also create their own labels, ingredients list, and package to create a beautiful presentation of the products. The best part about this class is being able to use their products at home! The students can also recreate the products with the ingredients list they take home each week. One class to look forward to is one where we will make a special spa basket for Mother’s day or holiday gift!
Spa Factory will be led by Michaela Lee on Mondays starting the second week after Spring Break. There is no class on Monday the 16th of April. It is open to students of all ages. Dates for Spa Factory are April 23, 30, May 7, 14, 21, June 4. Limited to 10 participants.

Tuesday - Trendy Crafts, Spring
Room to Bloom: Let your creativity bloom this spring with fresh new crafts. This session Trendy Crafts is going all out with air plants, night lights and a very special Mother’s Day craft! Join us to make a fun new project every week!
Trendy Crafts is taught by Elizabeth and Julie of TrendyCrafts.org and is a favorite among Westside crafters. The class will meet for six sessions beginning after Spring Break. Dates for Trendy Crafts this spring are April 17, 24, May 1, 8, 15, and 22. Open to students from Kindergarten through Grade 5. Limited to 15 crafters.

Tuesday - Poetry as Art, Spring
In this afterschool enrichment students will learn about different types of poems and work to create our own each class. We’ll focus on a different style of poem each class, including but not limited to: cinquains, concrete poems, sensory poems, mad lib style limericks, haikus, and even some trendy blackout poetry. Students will also be able to include some artistic elements to their poems (as with cinquains) in order to further enhance their creations. It’ll be a slammin’ good time!
The class will meet for six sessions beginning after Spring Break. Dates for Poetry as Art this spring are April 17, 24, May 1, 8, 15, and 22. Open to students from Kindergarten through Grade 8. Limited to 15 poets.

Wednesday - Baking, Spring
Jen Bergquist introduces the kids to the world of baking! Each week, we will measure, mold, shape, stir, and bake different items from cookies to cakes -- and everything in between. Kids will assist in every step of the process.
Baking will meet for six sessions. Open to anyone in grades K-8. Dates for Baking this spring are April 19th, 25th, May 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd. Limited to 10 bakers.

Wednesday - World of Wonder, Spring
It's a Wonderful World! Explore the natural surroundings of Westside School with Sean Dolgin. This ecology-focused class is held in the spirit of Earth Day, using observation, conversation, and practical methods to discover how our school is a part of a great big beautiful planet. Students will enjoy nature walks, demonstrations, and activities leading to fun projects all about clouds, the water cycle, soil science, and more. Sean will also be lending his green thumb to help kids plant their own potted flowers and take a trip to our school's very own greenhouse.
World of Wonder will meet for six sessions. Open to anyone in grades K-8. Dates for World of Wonder this spring are April 19th, 25th, May 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd. Limited to 15 explorers.

Thursday - Chess Wizards, Spring
Enter into the magical and exciting world of chess with Chess Wizards! You will participate in epic chess games, fun and interactive lessons, tournaments, team matches, trivia and more! Our specialized classes are a blast for everyone as young as kindergarten and as old as eighth grade. Whether you have been playing chess for your entire life and want to improve, are brand new to the game, or you just want to have a fun experience with your friends - Chess Wizards is the place for you!
Chess Wizards will meet for six sessions, skipping the Thursday when the school is closed for an inservice. Dates for Chess this spring are: April 19th, May 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st. Open to anyone in grades K-8. Limit: 14 chess wizards.

Thursday - Comic Book Creation, Spring
Students will learn about the process that professional comic book artists use to create original stories and artwork using pencils, ink, and tons of imagination! Comic books and graphic novels are fun to read, collect, and share with friends. This is a great class for anyone who has ever dreamed of publishing their own drawings and stories. Andrew DeLappe will lead this six-week course.
