THE IMPORTANCE OF YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO WESTSIDE SCHOOL
Westside families come together every spring to collectively raise funds for Westside School's Educational Program and the Tuition Assistance program. This allows Westside School to support joyful learning across all subjects and prepare students for high school and beyond. Unlike public or parochial schools we rely solely on tuition and charitable contributions to support our educational program. Raising these funds during the Westside School Fund in the fall and the Annual Spring Fundraiser is crucial, and your support directly impacts each Westside student's educational experience. In whatever capacity that is meaningful for your family, we hope you will consider making a gift to help Westside meet our goals.
2022 FUNDRAISING GOALS
Tuition Assistance Program: $125,000
Tuition Assistance impacts the quality of education for every student at Westside School. A robust Tuition Assistance program allows Westside to attract a diverse and dynamic student body who are engaged and elevate the Westside educational experience. Your support helps break down barriers so that anyone can receive a Westside education, regardless of financial circumstances, including partnering with the Rainier Scholars Program.
This year, your gift to the Tuition Assistance Program is crucial and will allow us to meet an increase in requests for tuition assistance. For the 2021-2022 academic year 20% of students, approximately 66 students, received financial support totaling $770,000. Westside commits 7% of its budget to tuition assistance. We are asking our community to come together to increase our tuition assistance capabilities with an additional $125,000.
Support Your School Unrestricted Funds: $208,000
Unrestricted funds allow Westside to sustain the student experience and provide support for committed teachers. Your donations help Westside go above and beyond for your kids.
Key Examples:
- Growing engineers and mathematicians through block play
- Learning about the natural world and ecology through the salmon raising and release program
- Connecting with visiting authors to learn about their craft and gain inspiration to become writers
- Coding in technology intensives
- Studying contemporary indigenous music
- Understanding the importance of the moon and circles in Chinese culture
- Math exploration of ancient Mayan numerals
