Course Overview

Course Date: Friday, October 12, 2018 - 9:00am to 2:00pm, Westside School

Course instructor is Cindy Tucker, an experienced Children’s Hospital Better Babysitting instructor.  The class will learn about:

• Responsible babysitting
• Basic child development
• Infant and child care
• Safety and injury prevention
• How to handle emergencies
• Age appropriate toys
• Business tips
• What parents expect

This class does not include CPR training, practice or certification.  If interested in a CPR course for your child, contact Karin Frissell.  If there is enough interest, a course will be scheduled.

Course Specifics  - PLEASE READ

The course runs from 9:00am – 2:00pm and check in starts at 8:45am.  Parents, or guardians, are asked to sign in their child.  Please do not just drop off your child, you must provide an emergency contact phone number.  It is a Children’s Hospital requirement to have contact information the covers the duration of the course.  

Lunch is not provided.  Send a sack lunch and water bottle with your child.  There will be a lunch break during the session. No phones or pictures are allowed during course instruction.  Students will get a chance to check phones during breaks and lunch. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend the last 10 minutes of the class to hear what their child has learned.

Course Payment Details

Payment is required prior to the start of the course. The cost of the course is $55, which includes a $10 contribution to the WPA.

If your child is unable to attend the course, contact Karin Frissell for wait-list information.  If there is no wait-list, you are responsible for finding a replacement for your child.  If the seat cannot be filled, no refund is provided and course amount is considered a WPA donation.  The no refund policy if seat is unfilled is to ensure the WPA can cover the cost of the course.
