Dear Westside Families,
The holiday season is here, and it’s the perfect time to show our amazing teachers and staff just how much we appreciate everything they do for our children throughout the year! Many families have asked how they can contribute to holiday gifts for our hardworking Westside team. We’ve got a fantastic plan that makes giving easy and inclusive for all.
As you know, inclusion and equity are at the heart of our school community. To ensure every member of our school family is celebrated—whether they’re teaching in the classroom, supporting behind the scenes, or keeping things running smoothly—we’ve created a special Holiday Gift Fund in partnership with school leadership and families.
Here’s how it works:
Instead of individual gifts, we invite families to contribute to a shared fund. All donations are pooled together and distributed as cash gifts to teachers and staff, ensuring that everyone, from the visible to the behind-the-scenes heroes, gets a heartfelt thank-you. Your generous contributions will help make this holiday season brighter for all!
Why Your Contribution Matters
We understand that families have different capacities to give, and every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. For the past two years, the family participation rate has remained below 33%. A gift, no matter the size, is a vote of confidence and gratitude for our hardworking Westside faculty and staff.
Historically, families have given and average of $105, which has resulted in an average gift of $200 per full-time Westside employee and $100 per part-time Westside employee. We encourage your family to donate what feels meaningful to you this holiday season.

- Donate what you can to the Holiday Gift Fund by Sunday, December 8th.
- Every donation—big or small—makes a difference, and 100% of the funds will go toward gifting teachers and staff.
- To make it extra special, each gift will be accompanied by a personalized handwritten thank-you note from the WFA, signed by all of us!

💖 Extra Gifting
If your child would like to do something special for a specific teacher or staff member, we encourage them to create a personal, handmade card or note! Let’s make sure every staff member feels truly appreciated!
Donations can be made anytime now through Sunday, December 8th. Every dollar helps make our school community stronger, and together, we can bring some extra holiday cheer to those who work so hard for our kids.
