A Community Celebration & Auction
Buy-In parties are one of the best community-building items at our auction! These parties take place throughout the year, but are purchased on auction night, as sign up sheets before the live auction begins.
Typically a group of parents agree to throw a party (either at a home or at another location). They choose the date, place, details, maximum number of guests and cost to attend. On auction night, the parties are all available for parents to sign up for and attend. They typically cost anywhere from $20-150 per person (this cost reflects the true amount of money per person it costs the host). The money raised goes to the school as auction earnings. The co-hosts share the expenses of throwing the party with each other.
These parties take place throughout the school year and are a great way to meet other parents from your own class, as well as other grades. Have a great idea? Ask your friends to host a party with you.
Some examples of yearly favorites:
Mama Mixer: Join Westside moms to celebrate the start of school for dinner and drinks in September.
Pub Crawl: Join Westside dads as they make their way down California Avenue’s watering holes on a select night in April.
Teacher Margie’s Book Club: Join Margie to discuss a book, chat and enjoy some treats. The book will be provided prior to the chosen date.
