Mondays: Yoga

Cynthia Voth & Joanna Bond return to help kids get in touch with their bodies, strengthen and relax their muscles, and develop coordination, focus and confidence.  Each class will include sharing, breathing/centering (pranayama), postures (asana), games that incorporate the postures, and a closing relaxation.  Yoga can be a fun exercise for kids.  Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.

Tuesdays: "Nick and Peter's Piano Extravaganza!"
First – Fifth Grades

Come and learn how to play all your favorite songs on the piano in the after school Piano Club with Nick and Peter.  You'll get to learn how to play songs, read sheet music, write your own songs, and shred!   From Justin Beiber, Hannah Montana, Selena Gomez, to The Beatles and Weezer, we'll show you how to rock the tunes that you like!   Each participant will have the use of their own keyboard and headphone (provided).

Wednesdays:Machine Sewing
First – Fifth Grades

This class will use full sized sewing machines.  Sewing machine safety is taught to students prior to beginning any project. Students then choose which project they would like to work on next.  Students will assemble pre-cut fabric pieces to make their projects.  Students may create tote bags, American Girl and stuffed animal accessories, fleece hats and other fun items.

Thursdays: Mad Science

Jill’s Room
The Science Club where you will learn that smell, sight, taste, touch and sound are all senses of adventure.  What does science taste like – Salty? Sour? Bitter? Sweet?  Inflate a balloon using nothing but warm water.  Make sound affects with everyday objects.  Build your own Newton’s Color Wheel.  Learn about static electricity, lightning and conductivity.  Transform two regular liquids into an oozing batch of your very own slime!  All of this, and much, much more.

Fridays:Dance & Tumbling

Children are most receptive to new information when they’re having fun, so in this class, we play games to help us both develop dance skills and learn to express our creative, artistic selves.  These two things work together to open up the endless possibilities of movement held within our dancing bodies.
