Donate to the SPACE Fund-a-Wish
The 21st Annual Westside School Spirit Auction was a glorious evening. Thank you to everyone who attended and made this event so successful. These are exciting times!
For those of you who weren’t there, it was my pleasure to announce the “Space for Westside” fund-a-wish. The teachers joined me on stage as we announced that we have reached an agreement with the Seattle Public Schools and intend to lease the Seattle School District, E.C. Hughes School, on 7740 34th Avenue SW and SW Holden.
When EC Hughes became available a short time ago, we saw this as a great opportunity. It will give us the needed space for classrooms and enrichment along with a large gymnasium, two covered outdoor play areas, a multi-purpose room with a stage, and abundant parking – all in one building. Our teachers are so excited to be back together, to have large classrooms in every grade, and to have this great new space.
This building provides us with one of our greatest opportunities, and one of our greatest challenges. The funds raised will help us work on the interior and grounds to create a warm and caring space for our program. Thank you for always rising to the challenge!
How much we can accomplish in our first year at Westside School’s new home will depend on how much we are able to fundraise. It is still possible to give a one-time gift or make a pledge over time. We hope to start the 2010-2011 school year at this new site, but there’s a lot of work to be done before September. We will keep you informed of our plans as we learn more.
